Christian Women's Fellowship (CWF)

Our CWF, orginially known as the Women's Council, formed when the Men's Group donated $5 to start the council in 1950. The council took that money and ran with it, providing our church with one of its best investments.

We have two CWF Groups-Hope and Ruth. The Ruth Group usually meets during the day. While our Hope group meets in the evening. Both groups meet together once a quarter, usually on a Saturday morning, to share in a brunch and program. Click here to view our calendar for exact meeting dates and times.

During the spring, CWF hosts an semi-annual Yard Sale. In the fall, this ministry hosts a Holiday Bazaar. Both events require a lot of time, but they do a good job keeping this active bunch out of trouble during the spring and fall. Money raised from these projects has been used to provide backpack kits for local shools; stocking our area Food Bank; hand-made walker bags, infant, and lap blankets; and donations to emergency housing agencies in the surrounding areas. This ministry can also be counted on to financially and prayerfully support the improvement of our church property and spiritually of the congregation. This rich commitment is due to our congregation's foremothers who stood strong in their beliefs and the power of the Holy Spirit.

Our CWF groups have supported other Disciple and UCC churches in the area. They have planned and organized the Annual Regional Women's Retreat, held at Mission Springs, many times over the past several years . A project that takes a year to plan and has in many ways strengthened our women to become who they are today. In turn, our CWF is known for its talent and creativeness throughout the Northern California-Nevada region. Many in this ministry have shared those talents serving on regional committees and the church as a whole.
