Rev. Jeanne Loveless
On March 1, 2006, we called Rev. Jeanne Loveless as our Senior Pastor. Pastor Jeanne is responsible for leading our congregation through pastoral care, preaching, administration, outreach, and visitation. Pastor Jeanne is a Chaplain, Spiritual Director, and Ordained Minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Jeanne holds a M.A. in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology and M.Div from the Pacific School of Religion. She completed her Chaplain Residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas and has served churches in Northern California, Indiana, and Arkansas. Jeanne is a wonderful liturgist and storyteller. Her preaching weaves personal story with the biblical text in ways that make it come to life! We are doubly blessed as Pastor Jeanne’s partner; Rev. Christy Newton is also an ordained Disciples of Christ minister and a gifted pastor and teacher. Christy is currently working on a PhD at the Graduate Theological Union. Pastor Jeanne’s passion for ministry rests in her belief that God has called her to minister. She l To relieve her stress, Jeanne confesses her love for fishing and playing the organ (interesting combindation). Two of her favorite Biblical stories come from John 15 where Jesus talks about God’s desire that we all have “joy complete” and the story of the Samaritan woman in John 4 where Jesus has his longest conversation in the Christian Gospels with a woman who is very possibly a sexual outcast.
